COVID-19 UPDATE - 1st March 2021
At this current time England remains in a National Lockdown.
From Monday 22nd February, we will be offering NHS check-ups for children aged 2-18 years, alongside our urgent appointments. This is part of our phased return to normal practice, which will see us increase our capacity for appointments, whilst ensuring the safety of all our patients and staff.
We are following a phased re-opening approach, as due to being a small sized village practice, unfortunately it is not possible to facilitate the same volume of patient appointments carried out pre-pandemic, whilst following social distancing guidelines set by the Government that are essential to keeping our patients safe, within the capacity of the building. This situation is unfortunately outside of our control, however we continue to see patients as quickly as possible and appreciate your understanding as we do all we can to keep you and your families safe during these uncertain times.
Due to the ongoing restrictions, we will be continuing with telephone triage for emergencies prior to face-to-face appointments.
If you require an appointment please call the surgery on 01582 882600.
There are some changes at the practice we would like to make patients aware of prior to visiting the surgery or booking an appointment.
Unfortunately, the waiting time for an appointment at the practice is longer than it has been in the past. This is due to a high demand for NHS appointments, alongside continuing restrictions from the NHS regarding fallow time after AGP procedures and social distancing measures in place by the Government to keep patients and staff safe. We are doing all we can to ensure patients are seen as soon as possible, however we are still limited to how many patients we can practically see in a day and we appreciate your patience with the system.
Arriving for your appointment
We ask that patients arrive as close to their appointment time as possible. Due to social distancing guidelines, we are unable to have multiple patients waiting in the reception area at one time. This means that we may ask you to wait in your car or outside the practice if the previous patient is still in the surgery, or you are particularly early for your appointment.
Who you are seeing
We do try our best to keep you with the same dentist at each visit to the practice, however, with the current circumstances it may not be possible to facilitate your appointment with your preferred dentist, especially for emergency appointments. If you are attending for an emergency you will be offered the next available appointment, this may not be with your preferred dentist, but this will not affect future check-ups with us.
We do ask that patients bring as little personal belongings with them at all times. Where items are brought to the surgery, you will be asked to place them into a plastic storage container and this is to avoid cross contamination between items within the surgery.
Treatment at check-up appointments
We are aware that prior to the pandemic, patients were used to being able to attend check-up appointments and have some treatment completed during the same visit. Unfortunately, due to the restrictions around certain treatments at the practice, we will no longer be able to offer same day treatment during these appointments. Treatment will be discussed with you during your check-up and another appointment will be booked for the work to be completed.
We would like to thank you for your continued understanding and support at this difficult time, and ask for your continued respect towards our staff, who will continue to work throughout this pandemic to provide for your dental needs.
We are not currently registering any new patients at the practice. We will update our website once this changes.
